Enzymes Actives sur Carbohydrates (EnzAC)
Notre thématique de recherche s’intéresse de manière générale aux enzymes qui sont des catalyseurs biologiques remarquables aux étonnantes propriétés. Nous avons développé depuis plusieurs années un domaine d’expertise s’articulant autour de la biologie moléculaire, la biochimie des protéines, l’enzymologie et la biologie structurale. Actuellement, nos compétences sont mises au profit de différents projets ciblant les glycoside hydrolases (GH).
Les GH sont généralement associées à l’hydrolyse de la biomasse végétale, mais certaines d’entre elles ont la particularité de pouvoir synthétiser des liaisons glycosidiques via une activité dite de « transglycosylation ». Nos projets de recherche en cours se focalisent sur ces glycoside hydrolases transglycosylantes (TGH). Nous avons pour but de mieux cerner la fonction biologique des TGH ainsi que les facteurs moléculaires inhérents à la transglycosylation qui demeurent encore méconnus.
Plusieurs TGH aux origines et propriétés diverses sont étudiées au sein de nos laboratoires avec une approche multidisciplinaire. À terme, nous souhaitons obtenir des outils enzymatiques permettant la synthèse contrôlée d’oligosaccharides et glycoconjugués d’intérêt (ex : prébiotiques, biosurfactants, …).
